Urlaub in Thailand

Nach den medizinischen Strapazen haben wir uns ein bisschen Urlaub verdient – und fliegen nach Ko Samui. Das erweist ist erst mal als herbe Enttäuschung. Der Hauptort ist die thailändische Variante von Caorle – Mc Donalds, Burger King und Starbucks inklusive. Nach einem Tag radeln wir zur Fähre und weiter nach Ko Phangan. Die kleinere, viel bessere Nachbarinsel. Und da wir alles richtig machen wollen, suchen wir uns einen Strand aus, der eigentlich nur mit dem Boot erreichbar ist – oder mit dem Jeep durch den Dschungel. Wir sind in den letzten Monaten überall rauf und runter gekommen, da können die 15 Kilometer durch den Dschungel nicht so schlimm sein. Den Thai auf der Motocross-Maschine, der uns vor der eigentlich unfahrbaren Straße warnt, ignorieren wir einfach mal. Was dann kommt sind die härtesten 10 der letzten 15.000 Kilometer und der schwerste Sturz (der aber trotzdem mit ein paar Schürfwunden und einem verstauchten Ellenbogen noch glimpflich ausgeht). Nach drei Stunden durch den Dschungel haben wir’s dann geschafft und landen in einem einzigen großen Bacardi-Werbespot. Bungalow am Felsen, einsamer Sandstrand, Palmen die ins Meer hängen, türkisblaues Wasser und gerade mal zwei Dutzend natur-lässige Menschen. Vier Tage Urlaub total!

Hey, I’m the dutch guy who you met along the mekong in Thailand.
Thanks for your reaction on the blog! Like you said, our blog is not working in China! But I send everything to my dad so he can upload the pictures. I’m riding on my one now for two weeks. My friend got back to Holland, he had some kind of stomach infection. I’m currently in Dali and getting north to Sichuan! It’s still cold there… What about you? Already in New Zealand? The blog is now updated, have look.
